BTU Usage

Heintzs Propane Company

A BTU, short for British Thermal Unit, is a basic measure of thermal (heat) energy. One BTU is the amount of energy needed to heat one pound of water one degree Fahrenheit, measured at its heaviest point. BTU's are what we use to determine the total gas appliance load. The BTU loads helps us determine the tank fittings, and pipe line sizes for the most efficient consumption by your propane fueled appliances.
