Propane tanks do contain flammable material and must be protected from harm. First and foremost the tank should be placed in an area free from traffic. Your propane tank should be far enough away from driveways and paths to avoid any sort of impact from a vehicle. If a tank is struck by a vehicle then it should be inspected for damage and leaks. You should turn off the gas valve and contact Heintz's Propane for assistance.
Your tank should also be protected from tampering and natural occurences. Always leave the tank dome attached to the tank and lowered so that children, animals, branches, and any other natural occurence cannot hurt the fittings and connections.
